‘GIOMANÈ’ is GIANFRANCO GFN’s fifth album release date June 6th, 2025 and it sounds like exactly what he wants it to; an honest reflection of who he is musically right now. It balances groove, soul, and acid jazz but hints at pop, funk and blues effortlessly. It’s an album that was clearly given the time it needed to be created. Development began with the song “Sing The Song” as early as 2022. There was patience and care taken. The sound is warm, organic and very alive. Recorded in studios between Switzerland and the Ivory Coast, musicians from each place joined GIANFRANCO in the studio to create this record. These musicians are professionals but you can tell these are players with heart, not dusty clocks. ‘GIOMANÈ’ exudes honesty and confidence from the opening seconds.
“Sing The Song” bursts with groove and welcomes you with open arms. It’s about allowing the music to speak for itself. “In My Dreams” takes a turn for the mellow with vibe-driven melodies and vocals to match. “Doctor Wind” shakes that sleepiness away with a playful swagger. You can really feel the band in this one. “Supernatural” takes a turn for the mysterious with mood-driven melodies. “Sunshine” does just that and warms you up with welcoming sounds. “Are You Lost” is honest and raw, quietly asking you questions over chiming melodies. “Soft” takes a page out of that book and slows it down with subtle emotions. “Saigon” drips with color and texture. “When You Have Gone” is heartbreakingly human in its approach to feeling someone’s presence after they’re gone.
“Me After You” is as vulnerable as the title suggests. “My Sunday Morning” is picturesque and relaxed. GIANFRANCO creates beautiful scenes with laidback grooves and soulful vibrations. ‘Boulevard de l’amour ‘Fall in Love'” is my favorite track on the album. It’s pure romance. I can feel emotions being stirred but they’re subtle. GIANFRANCO crafts some of the best melodies you’ll find on this project and honestly any album this year. I love how the album ends with “Jumping Around”. It’s playful and fun and takes you right back to the groovy atmosphere this album thrives on. ‘GIOMANÈ’ is an album made without trying to sound current. It doesn’t need to beep and boop like everything else these days. Gianfranco made an album about moments and feelings and most importantly real musicians creating art together. That’s why this album hits different.
