DedFACE launches into the song with “Gang Shit”, a bold trap track centred on the mindset, attitude and intense energy associated with gang culture. The independent artist from Riga, Dmitrijs Vasenovs, doesn’t attempt to complicate the track’s purpose: it is music intended to make a strong impact, whether it’s playing at full volume through the speakers at a party or serving as background music when releasing oneself from everyday worries. The topic of the song deals with the criminal mentality existing among gangs and factions in various parts of the world, as seen through DedFACE’s deliberately uncompromising point of view.
What makes the track so interesting is the way it came together naturally. DedFACE took on every aspect of the release, recording the song in the closet of his home and making it entirely as a pure freestyle. There were no pre-written lyrics, no detailed emotional build-up and no carefully planned performance; instead, he went with the sound as he heard it and let the track develop instinctively. This method is what gives “Gang Shit” its spontaneous feel, something that matches the aggressive nature of the music. Moreover, it is in keeping with the artist’s overall identity, which is based on raw honesty and personal experience, since DedFACE has been developing his own sound since his debut in 2023.
In the end, “Gang Shit” is clear about what kind of song it aims to be: a track packed with flexes, designed primarily for volume, attitude, and instant energy rather than for introspection. The invitation from DedFACE himself—“Just turn it on, man”—says all there is to say regarding the song. There is no complicated concept standing in the way of the listener and the music; it’s meant to be played loud, appreciated for its aggressive atmosphere, and allowed to take control of the situation. Those who are looking for raw, independent trap music with a freestyle approach and an unapologetic edge will find exactly what they are looking for in DedFACE.
