With each release radiating undeniable energy, it’s hard to imagine that Flyana Boss has a single misstep in them. Their latest EP, “This Ain’t The Album”, delivers a five-track celebration for the ladies, bursting with the vibrant hip-hop spirit you’d expect. Effortlessly trading bars, Flyana Boss presents two distinct voices that combine to create a powerful force. Each member brings a unique flair, resulting in an exuberant expression of Black girl joy.
The project kicks off with “yeaaa,” a high-energy pop track that evokes the nostalgic vibe of 2000s MySpace hits. A nod to Prima J’s “Rockstar,” it’s the kind of anthem every confident woman would choose as her profile song. Following this is “Money At,” a bold proclamation of self-worth and then some. Flyana Boss firmly believes they’re at the top of the female rap game, competing only with themselves. Concluding with “Stupendous,” Flyana Boss emphasizes the importance of being your own loudest cheerleader. They uplift themselves as they would a close friend, reminding us that words are powerful tools worth using to enrich our lives.
Although this is not their debut album, it’s astonishing to think we’re still anticipating their first full-length release, given their superstar status for so long. With their strategic approach to releases, we’re getting closer to that moment as they continue to refine their skills and grow as lyricists. Until then, “This Ain’t The Album” is more than enough to satisfy our cravings.
